love.Hope.faith

Fundraising was kicked off with the recording of my very first CD - love.Hope.faith by Christy K! I spent hours searching through songs to a) find ones that we could use & b) to find ones that we should use! I had to pull together a team of silent partners, a producer, a studio engineer, a photographer, & a cd production company too! Of course that was why i needed a producer - to handle the headaches! The cd cover photo was taken by "The Shutterbug" Shana. In collaboration with a friend/producer (Ibe Sodawalla of Thoughts In Progress Productions) we spent 2 days at Brown & Brown Studios doing recording and 1 day editing. Kevin Brown is a master at mixing! :0)
I wanted the cd to express the 3 things that help lead to recovery in those suffering from an illness - love, hope, & faith. The result was a collection of 10 songs that touched my heart, some that I will never sing live because of that very reason. I only hope they have touched the hearts of others who have heard them.

On sale at New Balance!

To date, a little over $2,000 has been raised from this frundraiser and it continues to raise money!

The.Little.Pink.Ribbon

The Little Pink Ribbon…
placed upon this page
Is a gift that I give to you.
I merely ask that you pass it on
….Please send it to a friend or two.
The ribbon is love
And the ribbon is prayer.
And it honors those who are gone.
It cries for a cure to cancer
While the frenzied race goes on.
It calls to brave crusaders,
and it asks that we all unite
to battle against the evil foe
on and on
And throughout the night.
The little pink ribbon placed upon this page
Is known across each land.
It is the symbol of hope and of courage,
Of a kind and helping hand.
It unites us as a people
And it soothes our sorrowed hearts.
It fills our souls with kindness
With the message that it imparts.

What did I just do?

I just signed up for the Breast Cancer 3-Day! What am I thinking?
60 miles to walk in just 3 days?!? Sleeping in tents & showering in trucks... A minimum of $2,200. to raise?!?

I have participated in Making Strides and Race for the Cure for 7 years & have led teams of walkers over the finish line but this is something completely different! I have signed up for this event completely alone (no one else is brave enough - or is that crazy enough?) because I felt I needed to do something bigger... something more challenging... I needed to make a difference! I am nervous and have no idea what the next year will hold, but I am hoping that this will be one of the best experiences of my life and that I will be able to bring awareness to so many people!
