Day.1

The 2007 Michigan 3-Day kicked off with cool temperatures on Friday morning at Oakland Community College – Orchard Ridge. You got off to a festive start as drummers from Ford gave you a beat to march to. You saw innovation at work, as a kindly past walker (who couldn’t walk this year due to a broken foot) provided a “clothes check” where you could leave your outer layers and pick them up at camp. There were many great pit stop themes along the route, including the “holiday” stop, where you celebrated a calendar full of festivities. A popular favorite was Labor Day – with crew members showing off pregnant bellies. In between pit stops, the Superior Ambulance “Motivation Medics” kept everyone cheerful along the route.
While you were out on the route, the Romeo football team was busy setting up your tents and delivering your gear, making your arrival at camp even more welcoming. Friday night’s camp show included an inspirational message from Nancy Brinker, and the evening was rounded out with some of the best karaoke around!
